“I KNOW THE POWER OF HAVING SOMEONE LIKE YOU AROUND. A known specialist and expert at what you do who mastered the craft. I can’t possibly create that same result internally because we have other priorities. And we don’t do what you do day in and day out.”
This was an awesome statement that someone told me in a sales conversation today.
As humbling as it was, I stepped right up and owned it—its true!
Do you understand the importance of having EXPERTS in your corner? And the cost of not?
Isn’t it just easier to grab your team and have them do more things that are outside of their core efficiencies?
As you scale business into 7 and 8 figures it is a familiar trap to start finding more ways to utilize your staff. You should be seeking to find their specialties and limit their focus for greater effectiveness.
When we work launches and live events for our clients our primary mission is to help make them look great by standing in our expertise and owning it!
The higher you climb in business the greater the need for you to know what you are great at. What is the highest and best use of your time and talent. And what your team is actually GREAT at. Not just what else they can do to fill a role.
Do you understand WHAT IS THE HIGHEST AND BEST USE OF YOUR TIME AND TALENT?
“Everybody is a genius. but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life believing it is stupid” ~ Albert Einstein
As we were in the war room planning her Back of Room Sales strategy a few years ago: I was asked by Sandra Yancey of eWomen Network, “What are the key trait you have seen with the most successful client engagements you have worked with over the years?”
My response:
- The ability to trust yourself enough to know what you do best ( if you are a fish or if you should be climbing a tree).
- Along with the ability to own it and live it
- Trust yourself enough to bring in others who also master their craft and surrender to their expertise
What is the 1 thing you should be doing?
What roles do you need to fill with an expert instead of stretching your team as a primary strategy?
We have been doing this very thing for some time now. Recently we have brought in more expertise onboard our team because we want to provide the best possibly outcomes for our clients. We will be sharing more about this soon. All about Live Event Mastery and Scaling!!
Make a commitment to have a conversation with someone who is an expert at something you’ve been convincing yourself “you can do it well enough already”
What’s the risk?
